In the fourth Test in Ranchi, Jurel played an instrumental role after India faced a tough situation at 177/7 while responding to England’s total of 353 in the first innings. Batting at number 7, Jurel formed two vital partnerships with Kuldeep Yadav and another debutant, right-arm pacer Akash Deep. Their collective efforts, along with Jurel’s resilient batting, helped India reach 307 runs, with Jurel contributing 90 runs individually.
In the fourth innings, India faced a challenging chase of 192 runs for victory. Despite a solid start by Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the team encountered a collapse, with key wickets falling quickly. Shubman Gill, at number 3, needed support, and he found it in Dhruv Jurel.
