IPL 2024: Fans React After Rishabh Pant's Flying Bat Hit KL Rahul During LSG vs DC Clash

In the 26th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant was involved in a dramatic dismissal against KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, April 12.

Rishabh Pant has showcased his batting prowess in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Initially, he had a slow start upon returning to competitive cricket, scoring only 18 and 28 runs in the first two matches.

After his initial struggle, Pant bounced back strongly by scoring consecutive half-centuries against the Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite a failure against the Mumbai Indians, he played a crucial role in guiding his team to victory against the Lucknow Super Giants with a commendable innings.

Rishabh Pant’s stellar batting was instrumental in Delhi Capitals’ victory as he formed a crucial 77-run partnership with Jake Fraser-McGurk, turning the game in their favor. However, Pant missed out on completing his half-century as he was dismissed by leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi after scoring 41 runs off 24 balls, comprising 4 fours and 2 sixes, in the 16th over.

Check out the reactions of the fans:

Pant’s innings against the Lucknow Super Giants also marked a historic milestone as he became the quickest Indian to reach 3000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in terms of balls faced. Pant achieved this feat in just 2028 balls, surpassing Yusuf Pathan’s record. Additionally, in terms of innings, he shares the third-fastest position with Suresh Raina.

Rishabh Pant’s dismissal was far from typical. Trying to strike a full delivery from Ravi Bishnoi for a boundary, Pant lost his footing and missed the ball entirely. His bat slipped from his grip and inadvertently struck LSG wicketkeeper KL Rahul. Despite the interruption, Rahul adeptly completed the stumping, sending Pant back to the pavilion.
