Fans Came Up With Hilarious Memes After India’s Horrible Batting Collapse In 3rd T20I Against South Africa

Despite winning the T20I series against South Africa by 2-1 – which is the same scoreline as before against Australia – India continue to have problems in both bowling and batting departments.

In the second T20I, South Africa had fallen only 16 runs short of India’s total of 237. Then, in the third T20I, on Tuesday in Indore, the visitors hammered the hosts and posted 227 on the board, eventually winning by 49 runs.

Five of the six bowlers that skipper Rohit Sharma used today leaked more than 11 runs an over as the Protea batters piled up a huge total courtesy of a century from Rilee Rossouw and half-century from Quinton de Kock.

While it was Miller and de Kock that gave a huge scare to India in the previous match, it was the pair of Rossow and de Kock in the third T20I in Indore.

The South Africa captain Temba Bavuma once again got out early, but then the two left-handers tore into the Indian bowling attack, which missed Arshdeep Singh, who’d been rested due to a back injury issue. Rossow and de Kock forged a big partnership of 89 runs from only 47 balls.

Even though de Kock got out for 68 off 43 balls, Rossow continued with his onslaught in an 87 (44) stand with Tristan Stubbs in which Rossow whacked 57 (26) and brought up his century, off 48 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes. Stubbs got out in the last over, off Chahar, wherein David Miller came and clattered three sixes in a row to take SA to 227.

India, in response, got off to the worst possible start, losing Rohit Sharma for a 2-ball duck in the first over, bowled by Kagiso Rabada. Shreyas Iyer, who was playing at number 3 for the rested Kohli, followed Sharma with only 1 run.

Pant, who opened in place of the rested KL Rahul, and Dinesh Karthik, today batting at number 4, gave India a hope as both played attacking shots and hit boundaries frequently. However, the hope was soon banished as Pant (27 off 14) and Karthik (46 off 21) got out by the end of the 7th over.

The magician and the in-form batter Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t do much today and was dismissed for only 8 and that was effectively the end of India’s challenge. Harshal, Deepak Chahar and Umesh hit a few late blows which provided entertainment to the crowd but it all was always going to go in vain and ultimately India were bowled out for 178.

And even though they bagged the series, the Men In Blue were trolled for their poor bowling and some dismal shot-making:
