Jurel recounted a hilarious and superstitious incident during the tense India vs South Africa final in the T20 World Cup 2024. Her stated that he was supporting the Indian team first against South Africa and India was getting into a bad position in the game. So, he suddenly shifted his support to South Africa in the middle of the game and then miracle happened. The Proteas lost the game from a winning position and India managed to win the T20 World Cup 2024.

“Mai bol raha tha ki India jeet jaye toh South Africa jeet rahi thi. Toh maine kya kiya ki South Africa jeet jaye toh phir ulta ho gaya. Jub India jeet gayi toh I was celebrating like a kid. (When I was rooting for India, South Africa was ahead. So I decided to back South Africa instead and India started winning.)” Jurel said in a clip shared by BCCI.

Well, the win for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024 came up as a breath of fresh air for the whole nation. They have suffered some painful heartbreaks in the last 11 years after coming close on many occasions but not getting hand a hand on any ICC trophy. However, this time around, they finally got what they wanted.

In the final, South Africa at one stage, needed 30 runs off 30 balls, which should have been a walk in the park for them, given Heinrich Klaasen was batting in full flow with David miller at the other end. However, they stumbled against the pinpoint bowling of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. India managed to created history!
