Former India Cricketers Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan had a heated fight during the during the game between India Legends and South Africa Legends in the World Championship of Legends 2024 tournament. India had to chase a big target of 211 in their 20 overs and both the brothers were present at the crease when the score was 132/5 in 18 overs.
Irfan Pathan tried to hit a big is over long in the first ball of the 19th over bowled by Dale Steyn. However, he failed to connect sweetly. Jacques Kallis tried his level best to take the catch but was unable to complete it. Meanwhile, Dane Vilas collected the ball and gave a percent throw to Dale Steyn. Irfan Pathan was short of the crease at the non-striker’s end and he was dismissed. Irfan managed to score 35 runs off 21 balls. After his run out, Irfan Pathan had a go at his elder brother, Yusuf Pathan.

During South Africa’s innings, Ryan McLaren scored 20 runs off 13 balls, Jacques Snyman scored 73 runs off 43 balls. Richard Levi smashed the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. The Proteas set a target of 211 for the Indian legends to chase. India were down and out of the game when they were 77/3 at one stage. Both the Pathan brothers stitched together a 56 runs partnership for the sixth wicket. Yusuf Pathan scored an unbeaten 56 runs off 44 balls, and India could managed to score 156 runs in their 20 overs. However, they have qualified for the semi final.
Heated altercations do happen in the heat of the moment and intensity of the game. However, the incident of the war of words between Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan was definitely the talking point of the game. We do feel that everything will be sorted after the game.
