The cricket world has been filled with discussions regarding the future of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan will be the official host of the Champions Trophy in 2025. The country hasn’t hosted any ICC event since the terror attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore. PCB is hence doing all that they can to organise the competition in Pakistan. However, the question still remains: Will the Indian Cricket Team travel to Pakistan to play in the Champions Trophy? There have been lot of reports coming out regarding the diplomatic war between the BCCI and the PCB.

Last year, Pakistan was the official host of the Asia Cup 2023. However, the Indian Government did not allow the Indian Cricket Team to travel to Pakistan due to security reasons. BCCI asked for a hybrid model and they got it. Their matches were played in Sri Lanka. The Indian Government is unlikely to give India permission to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and hence the BCCI again wants a hybrid model as per reports. Meanwhile, the PCB has scheduled all of India’s matches in Lahore. The stance of the Indian Government is clear: Till Pakistan stops funding cross border terrorism, they won’t be going to Pakistan and helping them gather revenue.

Meanwhile, an old video of India’s new Head Coach and former Indian cricket, Gautam Gambhir, has gone viral. Gambhir was asked whether India should travel to Pakistan and play bilateral series. Gambhir stated that no cricket game is bigger than the lives of the martyred Indian soldier. Till Pakistan stops funding cross border terrorism, there should be no bilateral series with the Men In Green. Gautam Gambhir will have a contract with the Indian Cricket Team till the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.
