Living up to his ‘chasemaster’ tag, former Indian captain Virat Kohli played a terrific knock to rescue the Indian side from a tricky situation at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Joining forces with Suryakumar Yadav, Virat guided the Rohit Sharma-led side to a memorable win in the third and final T20I of the recently concluded 3-match series between India and Australia.

Chasing a daunting total of 187 set by Australia, the Indian cricket team lost star openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma inside the first four overs of their innings. The Indian side was reeling at 30 for 2 at one stage but the Virat-Suryakumar duo brought back the much-needed momentum to the game. Virat joined hands with Suryakumar and together they stitched a match-altering 104-run partnership off 62 balls with the middle-order batter to help team India register a stunning win.

While Suryakumar Yadav still put everyone’s effort to shade with his brilliant strokeplay on the night, on the other hand, Virat played second fiddle to Surya when he was scoring big hits for fun.

After Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed, Virat Kohli switched gears and took charge of the game and smashed the Australian bowlers to all the corners of the ground. Kohli started off with a stunning drive past cover off Adam Zampa’s delivery before attacking Josh Hazlewood in the 6th over to complete his half-century with a six and a four. His amazing knock of 63 runs was laced with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

However, Kohli also fell in the last over before Hardik Pandya could give the finishing touch. The Indian side needed only four runs off the final two balls to win the game and this is when Hardik Pandya smashed a stunning boundary to cap off the game.

But the moment that left everyone in awe was when captain Rohit Sharma was seen congratulating Virat by patting the former Indian captain on his back as he walked back into the dressing room. The video of the same has been going viral.
