Spectators inside the VCA Stadium in Nagpur, and fans on social media at their homes, were left frustrated and furious as the second T20I between India and Australia, on Friday, was delayed for more than 90 minutes (at the time of writing) due to wet outfield.

There had been rain on Thursday night. There were little patches across the outfield and a big wet patch at the bowler’s run-up, the primary cause of concern and reason for the toss, and hence the match, being delayed for so long.

It is quite shocking and unbelievable that the ground authorities haven’t been able to dry up the wet patches despite there being no rain throughout the day.

And while netizens expressed their frustrations and directed their anger toward the BCCI, former India opener Wasim Jaffer came up with another hilarious tweet to entertain the fans. In this tweet, he took an amusing dig at India head coach Rahul Dravid!

Jaffer wrote that since Nagpur is the home of Dravid’s inlaws, there has been a delay in the start. This left the fans in splits. For the unversed, Rahul Dravid’s wife, Vijeta Pendharkar, hails from Nagpur.

Wasim Jaffer tweeted: “When you go to in law’s place after a certain age, things don’t necessarily start on time 🙂 #RahulDravid #Nagpur #INDvAUS”

Here, check out Jaffer’s hilarious dig at Dravid:

Rahul Dravid’s wife, Vijeta Pendharkar was born in Nagpur to a family of an Air Force Wing Commander. She finished her schooling at Bal Bharati School in Delhi and then enrolled herself in Shri Shivaji Science College in Nagpur. Vijeta pursued her career in MBBS soon after completing her Intermediate in Science. She joined Government Medical College in Nagpur and went on to complete her post-graduation in surgery in 2002 from the same institution.

Due to his job, Vijeta’s father was transferred to Bangalore and that’s where Dravid and Vijets met and became friends. Even after moving to Nagpur, Vijeta’s family remained in touch with Dravid’s family. The couple got married in May 2003.

Meanwhile, Dravid has a challenging task at his hand at the moment after India’s death bowling concerns have grown this month, with losses to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, and to Australia in the first T20I in Mohali.
