Dale Steyn Slams Simon Doull For His Insulting Remarks On Air

On Friday, Dale Steyn made his debut in the ongoing 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL), representing the Quetta Gladiators in a match against Peshawar Zalmi at the National Stadium in Karachi. During the game, Dale Steyn was seen sporting long hair, which eventually became a topic of discussion inside the commentary box.

However, things turned ugly when Simon Doull, the former New Zealand cricketer and current commentator, took a dig at Steyn by saying that Steyn was having “a little mid-life crisis with that hair”. As soon as he made this comment, the camera then focused on Steyn, who was sitting inside the dressing room. The video of the same has been making rounds on the internet.

The comment obviously didn’t go down well with Steyn, who in a series of tweet, slammed the commentators, for making ugly remarks. In his first tweet, Dale asked about the commentator, who made the remarks. Responding to this, one of the users, put forth Doull’s name.

In his second tweet, Steyn slammed the commentator by stating that the job of a commentator was to present the details of the game and not to be abusive towards the players. He wrote:

“If your job is to talk about the game, then do that. But if you use that airtime to abuse, anyone, for their weight, sexual choices, ethnic backgrounds, lifestyle, etc. Or even hairstyles, then I’m afraid I have no time for you as a human. You and anyone else like that to be fair,”

However, in another tweet, Dale was delighted to play his maiden PSL game. In his tweet, he expressed his happiness to play his trade infront of the crowds. He wrote:

“That’s all I have to say. It was a great time last night, fantastic to play in front of crowds again, cricket is so much better that way. We lost but hopeful to pull it together in our remaining games. Thanx for the support Have a great weekend everyone.”
