Sachin Tendulkar Posted A Heartfelt Tweet On Shane Warne’s Birth Anniversary

Legendary Australian leg-spin bowler Shane Warne would have turned 53 today (September 13) id he didn’t untimely die earlier this year. Shane Warne had died on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand after suffering a suspected heart attack on Friday.

Hailed as one of the greatest spinners to have ever played the game of cricket, Warne ended with 708 Test wickets from 145 games and also scalped 293 wickets from 194 ODIs. He also led the Rajasthan Royals to the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. Warne picked 708 wickets in 145 Tests, which is the second-most in the longest format of the game after  Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan. 

Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with tributes and messages for the legendary cricketer. From cricketers and experts to fans around the world, everyone is taking to social media and paying tributes to the Australian legend on his 53rd birth anniversary.

Among many, former Indian cricketer and batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar also took to his social media and hailed the legacy of the legendary cricketer. In his Tweet, Sachin Tendulkar expressed his emotions as he remembered the moments he shared with Shane Warne. He wrote:

“Thinking of you on your birthday Warnie! 
Gone too soon. Had so many memorable moments with you. 
Will cherish them forever mate.”

Former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh also took to his twitter and remembered the Australian legend with an emotional Tweet. He wrote:  “Fondly remembering this great legend on his birth anniversary! A man who defined class and accuracy on the pitch through his zest for perfection! May you shine the brightest wherever you are mate”.

Remembering the legend on his birthday, the family of the late cricketer posted a moving tribute for Warne. “A legacy gives you a perspective on what’s important. It is about the richness of an individual’s life, including what they accomplished and the impact they had on people and places. Shane’s Legacy will live on. Happy birthday – always in our hearts,” the family said.
