Pakistan fielders and comedy of errors — is a never-ending love story. Pakistan started the Asia Cup 2022 final with a brilliant note as Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf rattled Sri Lanka’s top order. The lethal Pak duo picked three wickets in the powerplay to take control of the game. This was followed by two more wickets, including skipper Dasun Shanaka, leaving Sri Lanka reeling at 58/5 inside 9 overs. And as the game looked to slip away from Sri Lanka’s hands Bhanuka Rajapaksa came to Sri Lanka’s rescue as he played an unbeaten knock of 71 runs off just 45 balls to help his side post a total of 171 for six in 20 overs.
However, Rajapaksa was dropped when he was batting on 54. Yes, on the last ball of the penultimate over, Pakistan players Asif Ali and Shadab Khan collided at deep midwicket after Rajapaksa tried to hit Mohammad Hasnain’s delivery for a six.
The collision was so nasty that the play was halted for a while and Shadab had to receive treatment after his head collided with Asif’s elbow.
The video of the collision has gone crazily viral on social media. Watch the video:
