It was only because of Rohit Sharma’s half-century that India could post a competitive total against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Tuesday in their Super 4 Asia Cup 2022 encounter. While Rohit scored 72 runs off 41 balls, staying true to his newly adopted gung-ho approach, SKY was dismissed for 34 off 29 as he rebuild the innings with his skipper – no other batsman scored more than 20. And it was only R Ashwin’s late hits (15 off 7) that propelled their total over 170.
