India’s young bowling sensation Arshdeep Singh has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after the Indian cricket team lost a game by the hands of arch-rivals Pakistan. The 24-year-old medium pacer from Punjab’s Mohali is being brutally trolled for dropping a crucial sitter in the Asia Cup Super-4 clash that ended with Pakistan cricket team defeating India by 5 wickets.

The incident took place on the 18th over of the Pakistan innings, which was bowled by Ravi Bishnoi. Pakistan needed 34 runs with Khushdil Shah and Asif Ali on the crease. On the third delivery, Asif played a sweep shot and ball went into the air and was going straight into the hands of Arshdeep, however, fate had other plans in store as the ball went through his hands.

Had he taken that catch, Pakistan could have gone on the back foot again in the chase and team India would have got a grip on the clash. Meanwhile, as soon as Arshdeep dropped the sitter, fans started trolling him left, right, and center on Twitter. However, the trolling took an ugly turn as some shameful people are leaving no stone unturned to take the cricketer down with their remarks.

While he is receiving criticism from all corners, Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has come out in support of the young bowler. In his Tweet, Hafeez requested the Indian fans to not humiliate anyone. He wrote:

“My request to all Indian team fans. In sports we make mistakes as we r human. Please don’t humiliate anyone on these mistakes. @arshdeepsinghh”

Earlier,  former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who is very active on social media, also came out in support of Arshdeep.  In his Tweet, he slammed the shameless trolls for saying cheap things about the Indian bowler. He said:

“Stop criticising young  @arshdeepsinghh No one drop the catch purposely..we are proud of our 🇮🇳 boys .. Pakistan played better.. shame on such people who  r putting our own guys down by saying cheap things on this platform bout arsh and team.. Arsh is GOLD🇮🇳”
