The second clash between India and Pakistan turned out to be another thrilling contest between the two arch-rivals as Pakistan started the Super-4 stage of Asia Cup 2022 with a stunning last-over win. Pakistan pulled off the win with just one ball to spare as they completed a 5-wicket win at the Dubai International Stadium.
After being asked to bat first, the Indian cricket team got off to a brilliant start however, it was Virat Kohli who stole the show with the bat. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul had earlier given a strong start, adding 54 runs in the first five overs. However, the Indian side lost an array of wickets, but Virat Kohli came to India’s rescue and delivered when the side needed him the most.
His stunning knock helped the Indian cricket to post a strong total of 181/7 in their 20 overs. He crossed the 50-run mark creaming a stellar six over deep midwicket. Kohli smashed a stunning 60 off just 44 balls, hitting four boundaries and six.
Later, Pakistan captain Babar Azam failed to fire up as Ravi Bishnoi got his wicket after a knock of 14. Yuzvendra Chahal also ensured that Fakhar Zaman only managed to knock off 15 balls. Khushdil Shah (14 off 11) and Asif Ali (16 off 8) steered Pakistan past the winning mark with one ball to spare. And there was a crucial catch that was dropped in the 18th over of the chase off the bowling of Ravi Bishnoi. Had he taken that catch, Pakistan could have gone on the back foot again in the chase and team India would have got a grip on the clash.
Meanwhile, as soon as the Indian side got defeated by Pakistan, social media was flooded with hilarious jokes, and memes, as fans started trolling the Indian side for losing a crucial game. Amidst all this, popular journalist and news anchor Sudhir Chaudhary also took to his social media and made a hard-hitting tweet for the Indian side. In his Tweet, Sudhir explained how Pakistan’s approach was different than Pakistans’. He said:
