Imad Wasim pleading with Virat Kohli to get out

In this video, Pakistani left-arm spinner Imad Wasim can be seen begging the then India skipper Virat Kohli to get out! This video is of their game in the 2019 World Cup at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Riding on opener Rohit Sharma’s 140 off 113 balls India scored 336. The then-skipper Virat Kohli also smashed 77 runs off 65 balls. Imad Wasim bowled 10 wicketless overs for 49 runs.

In the video that’s gone viral, after Kohli hits the ball and jogs toward the non-striker’s end to complete the single, to Kohli’s surprise, Wasim is standing there with his hands folded and perhaps pleads Kohli to get out and not score more. They exchange a few words and even Kohli then offers a smile.

Well, the tables have turned quite a bit at the moment as Kohli, who had then been in supreme form, is now struggling for a big and match-winning score. The hype of him being out of form has grown so much that even Pakistani cricekers are praying for Kohli to come back to form.

Recently when Kohli met Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistani speedster who is ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to a knee injury, the left-arm seamer offered wishes to Kohli for his form.

Shaheen said, ”aapke liye dua kar rahe hai wapas form main aaye.” (I wish you return to form)

Virat Kohli responded with a sweet couple of “Thank you.”

Later on, Pakistan’s leg-spinning all-rounder Shadab Khan also said that he would like to see Kohli back at his best with the bat. Shadab even went on to say that he hoped Kohli scores a century soon, but not against Pakistan.

Virat Kohli’s form is a matter of big concern

Kohli’s century drought has now extended to over 1000 days. But it is his recent form that’s concerning: in the IPL 2022, the RCB batsman managed an ordinary average of 22 and strike rate of 115 – followed by a dismal England tour, where he couldn’t score more than 20 in any of his 6 innings.

After the England tour, Kohli was on a break of over a month, taking a rest from the West Indies and Zimbabwe series, and will directly return in the Asia Cup 2022.
