Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who is currently in Australia along with team India for the upcoming four-Test series, has suffered a major loss in his personal life. The young bowler lost his father Mohammed Ghouse on Friday in India.

Mohammed Ghouse was 53 years old and lost the battle to a lung ailment. Mohammed Ghouse played an instrumental role in Siraj’s growth as a cricketer as he gave wings to his son by supporting his ambitions with his limited resources.

It has been learned that Siraj won’t return back to India for the last rites of his father in Hyderabad due to the Coronavirus’ quarantine protocols. He is currently in the middle of a 14-day quarantine period and has been training in isolation on the outskirts of Sydney.

However, this doesn’t stop Siraj from fulfilling his father’s last wish of making his country proud. Siraj revealed the last wish of his father. Talking to Sportstar, Siraj revealed:

“My dad’s wish was always this – mera beta, desh ka Naam Roshan Karna (my son, you should make my country proud). And, I will do that for sure.”

He further vowed to fulfill his wishes. Siraj said:

“It is shocking. I lost the biggest support of my life. It was his dream to see me play for the country and I am glad that way I could realise that and bring joy for him,”
