Ahmed Shehzad does an Ahmed Shehzad again – by making a statement that has got the fans roasting him heavily on social media.

The 30-year-old Pakistani batsman who last played international cricket in 2019, Ahmed Shehzad recently stated that, given the possibility, he would want Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt – BRAD PITT! – to play the cricketer if his biopic is made.

He stated this during a recent interview with sports journalist Syed Yahya Hussaini. No sooner had the anchor completed his question about which actor does Shehzad believes would be good at playing his role in his biopic than the cricketer confidently replied: “Brad Pitt”.

Yeah – the Brad Pitt from Fight Club, and ‘Once Upon A Time Hollywood’ and ‘Troy’ and ‘Moneyball,’ etc. This left even the journalist bursting in laughter!

You can watch the video here (and make up your mind if you’d want to see Brad Pitt play Ahmed Shehzad):

The hilarity didn’t end just there: the journalist also tagged a fake account (@PittOfficial) of Brad Pitt as the Hollywood actor is not on Twitter.

Expectedly, Shehzad was brutally trolled by netizens, including fans from Pakistan.

Here are some of the reactions to Ahmed Shehzad’s wish:

Ahmed Shehzad was once a promising up-and-coming batsman and much was expected of him after his success at the under-19 level. However, the right-hander only made splashes at the international level and controversies off the field and dipping form on it meant he was ousted from the side. Though he could make a return as he continues to grind in domestic cricket.

To date, Shehzad Ahmed has played 13 Test matches, 81 ODIs and 59 T20Is for his country in which he has scored 982 runs, 2605 runs and 1471 runs, respectively with 10 centuries in all; he is also among the rare list of batsmen who have scored an international century in all the three formats.
