The Indian T20 team is on a roll having not lost a single T20I series since the T20 World Cup last year. And under Rohit Sharma, since he took the captaincy full time, India haven’t lost a single match this year.

The latest triumphs came against England, one of the best white-ball teams in the world. India registered win in Southampton, by 50 runs, and in Birmingham by 49 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 series lead, with the third and last match to be played on Sunday in Nottingham.

Hardik Pandya abused skipper Rohit Sharma

However, there was one incident in the second T20I on Saturday that has divided the fans in sections. This involved superstar all-rounder abusing skipper Rohit Sharma during India’s bowling innings, a video of this has gone viral.

In this video, Hardik Pandya, who was Player of the Match in the first T20I, has completed his first over of the match in which he was smashed for a boundary by Liam Livingstone.

After the over, Hardik is heard perhaps explaining his frustration with a field setting, to which the fielder replies that he had been positioned there by captain Rohit Sharma.

A livid Pandya then abused Rohit and rebukes the fielder saying, “Mere time merepe dekho, maa ****** gaya woh [Rohit]” [Listen to me in my over, [abuses Rohit then]).

In the moment of heat and being upset, what Pandya perhaps didn’t realized that his vulgan and offensive remarks toward the skipper and his family was being caught on the stump mic and heard by the fans, who have now made this video, with audio, viral on social media.

Fans slammed Hardik for this behaviour and hence the hastag “#HardikabusedRohit” was trending on Twitter on Sunday with the netizens saying that recent success has made Hardik egoistic.
