IPL Teams With Most Number Of Sixes In UAE

IPL 2020 is the second edition of the IPL Live Score which is going to take place in UAE. IPL has already been shifted to UAE once before in 2014 when general elections had to be held in India. However, in 2014, the tournament was only partially organized in UAE and just as the elections were done, the teams returned to India and the second leg of the tournament was held in India itself.
When the IPL took place in UAE in 2014, all the teams played 5 games each before they came back to India to resume the rest of their campaign.
Here are the teams which hit the most number of sixes when the first leg of IPL took place in UAE in 2014 –
#1 Chennai Super Kings (33 sixes)

Chennai Super Kings were one of the best performing teams in the UAE leg of IPL 2014 as they won 4 out of the 5 games that they played there and later, they qualified for the playoffs as well.
CSK hit a total of 33 sixes in the 5 games in UAE and a lot of those sixes came from their very aggressive top order which included the likes of Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina, all of whom were fantastic stroke-players.
#2 Kings XI Punjab (32 sixes)

Kings XI Punjab didn’t lose a single game in the UAE leg of IPL 2014 and they were at the top of the points table when the action shifted back to India. They maintained their winning momentum in India as well and went on to reach the final of the tournament, although they eventually couldn’t win the trophy as they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final.
Kings XI Punjab hit the ball out of the ground a total of 32 times in UAE and on most of those occasions, the batsman at the crease was Glenn Maxwell. There was not a single bowler who was able to control Maxwell in the initial stages of IPL 2014.
#3 Sunrisers Hyderabad (23 sixes)

Sunrisers Hyderabad won just 2 games in UAE and eventually failed to make it to the playoffs, but they got quick starts in a lot of games and it was because of the Aussie opener David Warner who was only recently bought by the franchise.

Warner finished in top 5 in terms of hitting the most number of sixes in IPL 2014. The southpaw played 14 games in the tournament and scored 528 runs at a strike rate of 140.80 with 24 sixes. Quite a lot of those sixes came in UAE.

#4 Rajasthan Royals (20 sixes)

Rajasthan Royals were again one of those teams which couldn’t qualify for the playoffs in the 2014 season of the IPL, but their position in the points table was quite decent when they returned from UAE as they had won 3 games there.

In the Rajasthan Royals squad, there was not one particular batsman who was hitting sixes frequently in 2014, but they had 3 or 4 batsmen who were chipping in with a couple of sixes every game and that increased their overall sixes’ count.

Shane Watson, Sanju Samson and James Faulkner were in good hitting form for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2014.
