And the Twitter banter between former England captain Michael Vaughan and former India opener Wasim Jaffer continues in the ongoing Edgbaston Test, as once again it’s the latter who comes up with an epic reply, trolling the 2005 Ashes winner.

Hillarious Banter Between Wasim Jaffer And Michael Vaughan

Jaffer tweeted in praise of Jonny Bairstow, who notched up a scintillating hundred on Day 3. But it seemed like he was more of taking a dig at Vaughan.

After a quiet start – he was 13 off 61 balls – Bairstow went on a hitting spree and walloped 87 runs off the next 58 balls to raise his ton in 119 balls. His batting was akin to that of Rishabh Pant’s during India’s first innings when Pant had counter-attacked in a stunning fashion, reaching his century in 89 balls.

Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter and wrote: “This is great viewing! Jonny Bairstow doing a Rishabh Pant.”

Now, this got the fans burst into laughter as this is the perfect reply to Michael Vaughan’s tweet when the former England skipper had compared Pant’s assault on the English bowlers on Day 1 to that Bairstow did against New Zealand last month. Vaughan was mercilessly trolled by Indian fans for his comment.

This is what Michael Vaughan had tweeted:

This is great viewing .. @RishabhPant17 doing a Jonny B … #ENGvIND

Jonny Bairstow ton keeps England alive, India take a big lead

Bairstow was belligerent in his attack that came after a verbal spat with Virat Kohli. The right-hander was sedate in his start and was cautious against the searing deliveries of Bumrah and Shami. But something spurred him on during his heated argument with Kohli and he turned on his beast mode after that.

13 of his 14 total boundaries came after that incident and also a couple of sixes. Bairstow’s 106 off 140 deliveries helped England cross 250. The hosts folded for 284 as India took a 132-run lead.
