Suresh Raina Wrote A Beautiful Tweet For Madhya Pradesh Team: For the first time in the history of the Ranji Trophy, the Madhya Pradesh team emerged as the champions after defeating 41-time winners Mumbai by 6 wickets in the final on Sunday (June 26).

Rajat Patidar Smashed The Winning Runs For MP

Rajat Patidar smashed the winning runs for Madhya Pradesh in the 108-run chase to help his side register their maiden title win. Rajat remained unbeaten on 30 off 37 deliveries, while captain Aditya Shrivastava also remained unbeaten on 1.

Mumbai resumed the game on the final day from their overnight score of 113/2 however he failed to put MP on the backfoot after Armaan Jaffer was removed on 37 runs. The Mumbai batters failed to form a partnership. Suved Parkar was the top-scorer from the side with 51 runs and no other batter could reach fifty.

Yashasvi Jaiswal also failed when his side needed him the most. Coming out to bat at number 6 in the second innings, Jaiswal could score only 1 run.

Later, while chasing the target of 108-runs, Madhya Pradesh started the game on the worst possible note as he was dismissed in the second over of the game for 1. Himanshu Mantri (37) and Shubham Sharma (30) formed a partnership and added a 52-run stand before Shams Mulani gave a much-needed breakthrough to his side. But Rajat Patidar held the fort for his side and took them home.

Among many, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also took to his Twitter and hailed the performance of MP. In his Tweet, he congratulated Madhya Pradesh’s Team on their historic win. He wrote:
