LIGHTENING QUICK! Avesh Khan, who was struggling to pick wickets in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against South Africa, has made a stellar comeback to register his personal best T20I figures tonight in the 4th T20I against South Africa.

All thanks to the terrific batting effort from Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya alongside a fine four-wicket spell by Avesh Khan helped the Indian cricket team to ensure an amazing win for the Men in Blue.

Avesh Khan Made A Stellar Comeback

It has to be noted that Avesh Khan went wicketless in the first three T20I against South Africa and was under the scanner of critics. There were many who wanted him to make way for Umran Malik on the Indian side, however, Khan has finally able to find his form and change his fate.

In the just-concluded 4th T20I, India put up a total of 169 on the board after Proteas won the toss. Chasing the target, Proteas struggled with the bat from the start and were bowled for just 87, with Avesh Khan taking a four-wicket haul.

Khan dismissed Dwaine Pretorius, Rassie van der Dussen, Marco Jansen, and Keshav Maharaj to help India register their second win of the series.

Khan Dedicated His Performance To His Father

Later, after India won the game, during the press conference, Avesh Khan dedicated his sensational performance to his father, who is celebrating his birthday today. He said:

“I am feeling really happy. It is my dad’s birthday and want to dedicate this performance to him. The plan was to bowl up and attack the stumps, it was a two-paced wicket with the ball bouncing and keeping low, so use the odd bouncer and bowl good lengths,”

Talking about India’s performance in the ongoing series, he said: “We are playing well as a team, fielding well most importantly and bowling well, we back each other and will enjoy the last game. Yes, the winner will take the series and it is going to be a good match, we will give our 100 percent,”

Meanwhile, fans on social media hailed Avesh Khan for his terrific performance. From cricketers to experts and fans, everyone took to Twitter to applaud Khan’s performance.
