If the games end up in a tie, then as per the rules of the International Cricket Council, ‘Super Over’ is played in order to decide the winner. The fans were fortunate enough to witness the thrill of the Super Over, twice during the recent 5 matches T20 played between India and New Zeland, and to make it more special, both the times, the Indian cricket team emerged successfully.

3. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and South Africa – 1 Time:

The cricket teams of Pakistan and Sri Lanka have played super overs two times each, while South Africa has played Super Over 1 time. However, all three teams have won the super over at least once.

Besides them, the Australian cricket team has also played super over twice and both the times the Australians were unsuccessful and had to face the defeat.

The New Zealand cricket team has faced the super over the maximum number of times, i.e, 7 times so far. However, they have only won the super over only twice. Talking about West Indies cricket team, they have faced super overs 3 times, in which they won the super over twice and had to face the defeat once.

The Indian cricket team and the England cricket team, both of these teams are at the top of the list, having played the Super over three times each. During which both the teams emerged successful in all the three times they had to face to super over.

The Indian cricket team first played in the ballot over against Pakistan during the ICC T-20 World Cup 2007, after the match ended up in a tie. India won the ballout over and eventually won the match by 3-0.
