Here’s How Rahul Dravid Changed Many Rules Set By Shastri-Kohli: The duo of Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli achieved numerous successes in cricket, especially in the longest format of the game. Under the Kohli-Shastri era, the Indian cricket team reached new heights, however, the Indian side under their leadership couldn’t win any major ICC trophy.

The Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid era started with a bang, with back-to-back wins, giving the hopes of ICC trophies to the Indian fans. And if reports are to be believed then Rahul and Rohit have already started preparing the team for the same.

According to several reports, the Indian cricket team will go through a lot of rebuilding in the Rahul Dravid era. Several traditions of the Indian cricket team, which had started to vanish during the Shastri-Kohli are now being brought back by the new head coach Rahul Dravid.

For instance, Rahul Dravid recently revived the age-old tradition by awarding Rs. 35,000 to the groundsmen first during the first Test match at Kanpur and then at the Wankhede stadium for producing good pitches during India’s 2-Test match series.

This tradition of rewarding the groundsmen had vanished completely in the last few years. The tradition was practiced earlier by captains from Kapil Dev to MS Dhoni’s era. But the good thing is that Dravid has now revived this tradition.

Apart from this, Dravid has also revived the tradition of giants handing over the first cap to the debutants. Recently, we saw legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar giving the Test cap to debutant Shreyas Iyer. Rahul Dravid has made it a point to revive this practice

Rahul Dravid has also revived the policy of Anil Kumble, as per which players with unfit and poor form will be required to play domestic cricket to get a place in the Indian cricket team. Several reports suggest that Dravid wants to stop the selection of players on the basis of the Indian Premier League.

Yes, no player can make a place in the Test team on the basis of IPL. Also if any player wants to make a comeback to the Indian cricket team, he will have to prove his match fitness and form.
