Sourav Ganguly Joins The Pushpa Bandwagon

Former India captain and the current BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly, recently entertained the fans by dancing to the tunes of the song ‘Srivalli’ and emulating the famous gesture – brushing his hand below his chin – of superstar actor Allu Arjun from his movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.

This ‘Pushpa’ dance step – going sideways bending one leg and shoulder with the other pair following it – and the hand gesture – the ‘Thaggede Ley’ dialogue translated to Hindi as ‘Jhukega Nahi‘ – has become viral on the internet in the past three months as fans and several cricketers – including Ravindra Jadeja, David Warner, Dwayne Bravo, Virat Kohli, and Shakib Al Hasan – pay tribute alike to Telugu actor Allu Arjun from his recent movie ‘Pushpa’.

The latest in this line is Sourav Ganguly. Although he has had a rather serious time as the BCCI President – first with the saga around Virat Kohli and then organizing the IPL – Ganguly was in a fun mood while hosting the show ‘Dadagiri Unlimited’ on Zee Bangla TV as he was joined by a couple of kids.

The promo of a recent episode of the show has gone viral in which Ganguly does the dance step with a boy and a girl and also does the hand gesture. Fans are loving this video and are excited about the upcoming episode.

Meanwhile, Ganguly has a major task at his hand in the coming weeks as the IPL returns to India. The IPL 2022 is set to start on Saturday and is a 10-team tournament this time with 70 league games. Ganguly and the BCCI would be hoping for no hiccups this time around as it happened last season when the tournament was suspended mid-season following a covid-19 outbreak in multiple franchises.
