Fawad Alam Created A Unique Record In Test Match Against Australia: The batters enjoyed a gala time in the first Test match between Australia and Pakistan, that ended up in a draw. Batsmen from both teams celebrated for five days on a lifeless pitch. Only 14 wickets were picked in the course of 5 days where rain also played its part.

The Pakistan cricket team batted twice in the game and only lost four wickets. From Imam-ul-Haq to Azhar Ali and Mohammad Rizwan, all the batters gave an impressive performance with the bat. However, it was Fawad Alam who has stolen all the limelight on social media.

Well, left-hander, Fawad Alam created a unique record by doing nothing in the game. Fawad became the first Pakistani batter in the last 28 years to have finished the Test without batting, bowling, catching. Yes, you read that right.

Fawad Alam, who usually bats at number 5 didn’t get to bat as the captain decided to promote other batters ahead of him. Not just this, Fawad Alam, who has bagged 15 international wickets, wasn’t among the seven Pakistani bowlers who rolled their arm over in the game.

He failed to make an impact in the fielding department as well as he neither affected a run-out nor took a catch.

As per statistician Mazher Arshad, Fawad is the first Pakistani batter after Asif Mujtaba to have finished a Test without batting, bowling, fielding. He wrote:

“Fawad Alam is first Pakistan player in 28 years to go a complete Test without batting, bowling, catching. Last was Asif Mujtaba vs New Zealand in Wellington in 1994,”
