Asia Cup 2022: Babar Azam Made A Big Statement Ahead Of ‘IND vs PAK”: India and Pakistan are set for another mega-encounter when they will lock horns on August 28 in the Asia Cup group match in Dubai, the same venue of their previous clash – which Pakistan won by 10 wickets at the T20 World Cup.
Such is the Asia Cup format that India and Pakistan can meet each other thrice, including the final, which many are banking them to reach, giving the fans a mouth-watering prospect.

India have won the Asia Cup 7 times; Pakistan two times

India is the most successful team in the history of the competition and has won it on seven occasions, while Pakistan have only won it twice. India won the last two editions of the Asia Cup, in 2018 and 2016.
Before the Asia Cup, Pakistan will tour the Netherlands for 3 ODIs. In the pre-series press conference, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was asked about the possibility of playing against India thrice and the pressure it would bring onto him and his team.
Babar calmly played down the pressure query from the journalist.
“Dekhe pressure kuch nahi hai. Koshish yahi hoti hai ki match ko match k tarha hi khele. (We’ll try to approach it like any other match),” Babar Azam said when a journalist asked if Pakistan could make it 3-0 over India in the Asia Cup 2022.
Shaheen Afridi was the wreaker in chief for Pakistan when the two sides last met at the T20 World Cup as the speedster took the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, restricting India to 151. Babar and Rizwan both scored unbeaten fifties to take Pakistan home comfortably in their run-chase, winning the game by 10 wickets.

The Pakistan captain stated that like the game last year, they will once again try to not let the pressure get the better of them this time.
“Yes, there will be different pressure, but as we tried in the last World Cup (not to let it affect us), we’ll try to focus on our game and believe in our abilities. This time as well, our focus will be to give our best. Putting our best effort is in our hands, but results are not. If we give our best, then more often than not, results will also come,” he said.
When is India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match?
After the Asia Cup 2022, India and Pakistan will meet again at the T20 World Cup 2022, on October 23 at the MCG.
