Glenn Maxwell Responds After His Wedding Invitation Was Leaked Online

Glenn Maxwell had to undergo a range of emotions when he found out that the information of his wedding venue has been spreading in Indian media houses and also on social media.

The swashbuckling Aussie all-rounder is set to marry fiancée Vini Raman, who is a Melbourne-based Indian pharmacist; the pair got engaged in March 2020, and because of multiple covid enforced restrictions and lockdown they haven’t got married yet. But that wait will be over next month; for that Maxwell has also decided to skip Australia’s tour of Pakistan as his wedding date of March 27 coincides with the series in Pakistan.

However, there has been a tense round of mood when Maxwell learned that Vini’s relatives in India had got too excited and shared the wedding information with their other people.

The wedding was supposed to be a private affair with only close relatives and friends in attendance – about 350 people have been invited. However, now, it seems that there will be a lot more than 350 people waiting outside the marriage hall because of the leak of the details. Hence, Maxwell has been forced to increase security around the wedding venue.

“It was not ideal. We’ve got to get extra security for the wedding now. It was supposed to be a private event and unfortunately, the relatives over in India just got a little bit excited and decide to show a few friends. Next minute, it’s in pretty much every paper over there and I’m getting tweeted it by pretty much everyone. So that was a shock. It’s been a busy couple of days,” said Glenn Maxwell in an interview with Cricket Australia’s official site.

Glenn Maxwell is currently part of the T20I series against Sri Lanka at home. Australia have won the series, leading by 3-0 with two games more to go. Since the all-rounder has opted out of the Pakistan tour, he will next be seen, after the Sri Lanka series, in the IPL 2022. Maxwell was retained by RCB for 11 crore after his scintillating tournament last year.
