Rohit Sharma‘s tenure as the full-time ODI skipper of team India began with a bang, with the Indian cricket team defeating West Indies by a 3-0 whitewash. The Indian side led-by Rohit Sharma put on a stellar all-around show to defeat West Indies by 96 runs in the third and the last ODI match.

Riding on the stunning performance of Shreyas Iyer, who played a responsible knock of 80 runs with Rishabh Pant’s aggressive 56 runs-knock powered the Indian cricket team to a challenging total of 265 runs in the dead-rubber.

Though, the top-order of the Indian cricket team put on a decent total but the Indian bowlers broke the back of the West Indies batters to hand them a thumping defeat. The stunning bowling performance of the Indian bowlers led to the collapse of the opponents for 169 runs in 37.1 overs as the visitors continued their dismal batting show.

Things went downhill for Windies from there and it was only a matter of time before the Indian side wrapped the game.

Deepak Chahar stole the show with his stunning performance in the powerplay as he picked two wickets in an over. Skipper Nicholas Pooran fought hard for his 34 but he failed to take his team to the winning side. He was caught out by Rohit Sharma at first slip off Kuldeep Yadav’s delivery.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were thrilled with India’s stunning victory in the 3-match ODI series. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone took to social media and hailed the performance of team India.
