Former Indian captain Virat Kohli once again failed to make it big with the bat as he was dismissed on a score of 18 runs in the ongoing second ODI of the three-match series at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In the ongoing 2nd ODI, KL Rahul returned back to the Indian squad in place of Ishan Kishan and the team opted for a new opening pair. Rohit Sharma made a big change as he walked out to open the innings with wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.
However, Rohit Sharma was dismissed early in the innings after scoring only 5 runs. After his dismissal former Indian captain, Virat Kohli came in to bat at number 3. Kohli was expected to score some big numbers, however, he was once again dismissed chasing a delivery outside off-stump by Odean Smith. He attempted to play a drive-through the covers but the ball slipped away and he edged it to the wicketkeeper Shai Hope on a score of 18 runs.
It was the third wicket that fell in the innings, with both the openers – Rohit and Rishabh – perishing earlier in the innings.
Meanwhile, fans on social media were left disappointed with the dismissal of Virat Kohli as the wait for Virat’s 71st century continues. There were many who came up with hilarious memes and jokes while trolling Virat for his disappointing performance.
