Aakash Chopra Predicts Shreyas Iyer’s Selling Prince In IPL 2022 Mega Auction: The mega-auction ahead of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place on February 12-13 and the excitement for the mega-event has kept everyone hooked. On Tuesday, a complete list of 590 players who will ve going under the hammer during the mega-auction was released by the IPL. The IPL also named 10 marquee players, who will be up for some huge grabs in the opening session of the auctions.

The top draws for IPL 2022 mega-auctions include Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Shami, Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Shreyas Iyer, R Ashwin, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult.

The marquee list features four Indian players and former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that Shreyas Iyer can potentially become the most expensive of them all.

Shreyas Iyer was released by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the mega-auctions. He had been a part of the Delhi-based franchise since 2015 and had also led the franchise in the last three seasons – 2018, 2019, and 2020.

However, he had to miss the first phase of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League due to a shoulder injury. In his absence, Rishabh Pant took over as the captain of the franchise. Eventually, Shreyas was released from the franchise.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra made a big prediction about Shreyas Iyer. He said:

“Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don’t think Punjab would be looking at him,”

Further, Aakash Chopra also added that in the absence of Ishan Kishan in the marque list, Iyer could be the “most expensive player”. He said:

“The most expensive player, to be very honest, is going to be Shreyas Iyer. In this list, the most expensive will be Iyer because Ishan Kishan is not there. If Ishan was there, there could’ve been a tug of war. Now, they will reserve money for Ishan and money will be splashed out for Iyer,”

He added: “The three most expensive overseas players will be Rabada, and then one of Quinton de Kock or David Warner will be the most expensive overseas player as well. There’s a good possibility.”
