For a player not getting run out in his entire career is a massive achievement. It is an incredible feat that some of the players, including one Indian legend, never got run out in their entire Test career.

It is almost unimaginable because a miscommunication with your batting partner can happen anytime, even when you are set. Or at times you get run out even if it’s the fault of your batting partner.

The name of the iconic Indian player who never got run out in his Test career – not even once – is none other than Kapil Dev. Kapil was one of the fittest cricketers of his time. Known for his explosive batting and menacing pace bowling, Kapil changed the course of Indian cricket when he led India to the 1983 World Cup win in England, defeating West Indies in the final.

Kapil Dev did got run out 10 times in ODI cricket, however, not a single time in his Test career in which he played 131 Tests and batted in 184 innings. He finished with 5284 runs 434 wickets in Tests along with 3783 runs 253 wickets in ODIs.

There are 4 other renowned cricketers who played for a long time but didn’t get run out even once in Tests.

Former England captain Peter May, who featured in 66 Tests and batted in 106 innings never got run out. Another former England batsman, Graeme Hick, who played 65 Tests spanning across 10 years between 1991 and 2001 is the third name on this list.

Mudassar Nazar, who played 76 Tests for Pakistan, was never run out in his entire Test career. So was another Englishman, all-rounder Paul Collingwood, who batted in 115 Test innings. Collingwood, a quick runner between the wickets, got run out on a few occasions in limited-overs cricket, but never in any of his 68 Test matches.
