The 5th match of the ongoing Legends League Cricket took place between the World Giants and the Asia Lions at Al Amerat Cricket Ground and it turned out to be very interesting. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen turned the clock back as he smashed former Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya to every corner of the ground.

Though Asia Giants looked in great form, however, all thanks to the stunning knock of Kevin Pietersen the World Giants managed to thrash the Asia Lions by a margin of seven wickets. After winning the toss, Darren Sammy walked up with his squad to bowl first and managed to restrict the opposition to just 149 runs.

Jayasuriya and Dilshan opened the innings for the Lions but they failed to give a solids start to their team. While Jayasuriya was dismissed on just 3 runs, Dilshan added 17 runs from his end. Asghar Afghan played a stunning knock of 41 off 26 balls with six fours and a six. Former Lankan wicketkeeper Romesh Kaluwitharana also played a quickfire 26 off 23 balls.

Later, while chasing the target, opener Kevin Pietersen wreaked havoc with the bat as he rained fours and sixes on the ground. He played a fiery knock of 86 runs off just 38 deliveries and made the target look toothless. His stunning knock was laced with 7 sixes and 9 fours.

Meanwhile, later on, KP took to his social media and shared a video of his batting heroics. Sharing the video, KP wrote: “#AboutLastNight if you have a minute! ?”
