Boria Majumdar Lists 4 Biggest Talking Points For Team India: The fortunes of team India flipped badly within a matter of a few weeks. India’s tour to South Africa that started in a blockbuster way turned into a nightmare.
Well, the Indian side began their tour of South Africa (on December 30) with a bang, registering a stunning 113-run win over South Africa for their first Test victory in Centurion. At that time it looked like the Indian side will create history by winning a Test series in South Africa.
However, who would have thought that after registering a thumping win in the Centurion, India would end up losing the next five games, back-to-back.
After the dream of winning a Test series in the Rainbow Nation, Virat Kohli announced his resignation from Test captaincy. The Indian side was jolted further when they suffered a whitewash in the 3-match ODI series by the hands of South Africa.
As India’s disastrous outing in South Africa came to an end, several questions cropped up regarding the performance of the Indian cricket team. However, probably the biggest question that popped up would be regarding India’s middle-order.
During the tour to South Africa, India’s middle-order struggled to score the runs. India’s middle-order was seen collapsing every now and then. Though there were some crucial contributions from the middle by Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, but it lacked consistency.
Meanwhile, a popular sports journalist named Boria Majumdar has also given his take on India’s middle-order conundrum. In his Tweet, Boria Majumdar listed the 4 biggest talking points for team India. He suggested that KL Rahul should go back to the middle order in order to bring stability to the team. He also lauded Rishabh Pant and advised him to be more consistent.
He also wrote how Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s form is past his best and that the presence of Ravindra Jadeja in the team is essential. He wrote:
“Rohit back at the top KL has to go back to the middle order for stability and he can finish too. Rishabh is an outstanding talent who will have to be consistent and himself realise what he can do and not waste his chances. Bhuvi is past his best. Jadeja is absolutely essential.”
