As the Indian cricket team and South Africa team are locking their horns with each other in the ongoing 2nd ODI match of the 3-match series, a series of hilarious moments took place, that will go down as one the most hilarious moments of the year on-field. India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul and wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant ended up on the same end however they miraculously survived a run-out.
The hilarious incident took place in the 15th innings of the Indian innings when Rishabh Pant tucked a delivery onto the on-side and was all set for a run. However, Proteas’ Temba Bavuma dashed across and slid to collect the ball, seeing him, Pant decided to deny the run despite him being halfway down the wicket.
A communication mishap took place between both the Indian players and eventually both of them ended up on the same side. At that moment, it looked set to be a run-out with KL Rahul having no scope of returning back in time. But a series of hilarious errors took place on the field as Keshav Maharaj on the bowler’s ended up missing the throw.
To make things even worse, there was no backup fielder present there as the mid-wicket fielder was standing near the boundary line. KL Rahul reached back on time, by the time throw came back to Maharaj. All thanks to this misunderstanding and comedy of errors, Rahul was gifted a lifeline, which is turning out to be costly for the Proteas.

Talking about the game, Shreyas Iyer has joined Rishabh Pant on-field. At the time of writing this article, India was at 180/3, having lost Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
