Ravi Shastri Reveals Keegan Petersen Reminds Him Of A Very Special Cricketer

Ind vs SA: Man of the Match Keegan Petersen has been receiving praises from all corners after he guided his team to register a remarkable victory over India in the third and final Test of the series in Cape Town, sealing the series 2-1.

The South African side managed to defeat the Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team by seven wickets and Petersen played an instrumental role in scoring a fighting 82 runs before Shardul Thakur dismissed him to give India a much-needed breakthrough.

All thanks to the stunning effort from Keegan Petersen, who made the most of the opportunity and smashed a 113-ball 82 runs that completely deflated the Indian side. His knock helped his side chase down the target of 212 runs.

Later, after the match, Petersen revealed how conditions at Cape Town were testing, and just like a good batter he was only ‘trying to be positive’. He said:

It hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s a mixed bag to be honest. Happy, emotional. I was trying to be positive and then build on that. It’s been difficult conditions all around and was just sticking to my guns. It’s been a long journey, can’t tell the whole story now, won’t be over till tomorrow morning. It’s been challenging surfaces, challenging bowling attacks,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and head coach, Ravi Shastri took to his Twitter and penned down a special Tweet for the Man of the Match, Keegan Petersen for his terrific knock. In his Tweet, Shastri expressed how Keegan reminds him of his childhood hero Gundappa Vishwanath. Shastri wrote:

Keegan Peterson (KP). Excellent initials (@KP24). A great world player in the making. My childhood hero Gundappa Vishwanath comes to mind #SAvIND”
