match against arch-rivals New Zealand, which will kickstart on November 25th in Kanpur. As per a PTI report, India’s sensational opener KL Rahul, who was in red-hot form lately, has been ruled out of the upcoming 2-match Test series opener because of an injury.
KL Rahul was missing from the practice session of team India ahead of the 1st test match, which was attended by almost all the players on Tuesday at the Green Park stadium. Though, the nature of the injury has not been confirmed but a BCCI source told PTI: “KL Rahul is not playing the first Test,”
During the practice session, Shubman Gill was seen opening the innings with Mayank Agarwal, as Cheteshwar Pujara, the vice-captain for the series-opener, also batted.
Also, Suryakumar Yadav, who was a part of Team India’s Test squad that traveled to England, has been added to the side two days before the start of the series opener in Kanpur.
“Suryakumar Yadav replaces KL Rahul in India’s Test squad. KL Rahul has sustained a muscle strain on his left thigh and has been ruled out of the upcoming 2-match Paytm Test series against New Zealand,” said BCCI.
Meanwhile, fans came up with mixed reactions on the latest development of the playing XI of team India for the series opener. While many backed Mayank Agarwal to grab this opportunity and outshine, on other hand, many were not happy with Shubman Gill opening for the team.
