AB de Villiers Thanked Kohli And RCB After Announcing His Retirement From All Forms

Legendary South African cricketer AB de Villiers, on Friday, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The stunning right-hander, who had retired from international cricket, continued to ply his trade in the T20 leagues across the world. He has been an integral part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

Over the years, de Villiers has entertained his fans with some incredible knocks in the IPL. He is the second all-time highest run-scorer behind Virat Kohli.

de Villiers shared a long message for his fans, wherein he announced that he has decided to bring the curtains down on his illustrious career. AB de Villiers shared a series of Tweets announcing his decision. In his Tweets, he shared his journey and thanked his family members, teammates, and everyone who was on this journey with him.

After announcing his decision to retire from the game, de Villiers thanked Royal Challengers Bangalore and the entire RCB think tank for showing confidence in him. He said:

I have had a long and fruitful time playing for RCB. Eleven years have just whizzed by and leaving the boys is extremely bittersweet. Of course, arriving at this decision took a lot of time, but after a lot of contemplation, I’ve decided to hang up my boots and spend quality time with my family. I would like to thank the RCB management, my friend Virat Kohli, teammates, coaches, support staff, fans, and the entire RCB family for showing faith and supporting me all through these years. It has been a memorable journey with RCB. Have so many memories on the personal front to cherish for the lifetime. RCB will always be very close to me and my family and will continue to support this amazing team. I am a RCBian forever”
