After defeating New Zealand in the series opener on Wednesday, the Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns against New Zealand at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. However, during the game, India’s stylish wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was seen wearing the jersey with tape on his right chest.

Soon, the curious fans started discussing the same on social media. It was reported, that the reasoning behind the same was worn by India during the recently concluded T20 World Cup. Since that jersey has the T20 World Cup 2021 logo on it, therefore he taped it off as the ICC logo isn’t allowed to use in bilateral series.

The other Indian cricketers were seen wearing their regular jersey which has the branding of jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team – BYJU’s on it.

Talking about the match, after being asked to bat first, the visitors posted a target of 153/6 in their given 20 overs.

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. For team India, medium pacer Harshal Patel made his international debut, who turned out to be the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021. Harshal picked 32 wickets in 15 games, equaling the record of Dwayne Bravo for the highest wicket-taker in a single IPL season.

His RCB teammate, Mohammed Siraj was ruled out of the second T20I because of a finger injury and Harshal replaced him in his place.

On November 19, BCCI took it to their official Twitter to congratulate the medium-pacer on his day: “Congratulations to @HarshalPatel23 who is set to make his #TeamIndia debut. @Paytm #INDvNZ.”
