Former England opener, Nick Compton mocked the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli after India’s 8-wicket defeat against the New Zealand cricket team in the Dubai International Stadium. It was a do-or-die match for both teams, however, the Indian cricket team failed to give the best of their abilities and suffered another humiliating defeat in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021.

The nightmare for team India continued as their batting order collapsed once again. After being invited to bat first, team India managed to post a target of only 110/7. Not a single player from the team was able to touch the 30-run marks. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja turned out to be the top scorer with 26 not out.

Trent Boult and Ish Sodhi, both the Kiwi bowlers gave a stunning performance as they picked 3 and 2 wickets each respectively.

The Indian cricket team needed early wickets to restrict the Kiwis from chasing the target. However, they didn’t get it as Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell stitched together a partnership of 24-runs off 22 balls. Jasprit Bumrah gave the much-needed breakthrough to the Indian team as he dismissed Martin Guptill on 20. But post that team India failed miserably to stop the Kiwis from chasing the target and were defeated by 8 wickets.

Following India’s defeat, several cricketers and experts took to their social media and gave their opinions on the game. Among many, former England opener Nick Compton took to Twitter and mocked Indian skipper Virat Kohli after India’s humiliating defeat against New Zealand in a very crucial match.

For the unversed, Nick has been never shy of giving his opinions about team India. More often than not, he is seen attacking the Indian skipper with his tweets. He often finds himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling, all thanks to his derogatory tweets for team India and Virat Kohli, and for his biasedness towards the England team.

After India’s defeat last night, he was at it again as he decided to take a dig at Virat Kohli. In his Tweet, Nick predicted a huge win for the Indian cricket team in a match against Namibia, stating that it will be Virat Kohli’s last match as the skipper. He wrote:

“For Kohli’s last game in charge I predict a resounding victory against Namibia on the 8th November…”
