Aakash Chopra Named The Bowler Who Should Replace Out Of Form Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Aakash Chopra Named The Bowler Who Should Replace Out Of Form Bhuvneshwar Kumar: With the Men in Blue all set to take on Pakistan in their opening clash of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, the experts and fans have already begun predicting the names of players who should be a part of the playing XI.

Ahead of the big clash against Pakistan, the selectors and team management made only change to the preliminary squad where bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur replaced Axar Patel.

Now ahead of the ‘Ind vs Pak’ clash Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s form has become one of the biggest talking points. He recently endured a rough time at the just concluded 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, where he managed just 3 wickets off the 6 games he played at an economy rate of 7.97, which was his worst in a season. However, the Indian skipper has brushed off all the concerns regarding Bhuvi’s form.

During India’s warm-up match against England, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was taken to the cleaners by the England batsmen. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra talked about Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s below-par performance. He also felt Shardul Thakur should replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He said:

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been expensive. He is not looking a patch of his usual self. He has a lot of experience but I am not 100% convinced that you can play him in the XI against Pakistan. I will be thinking about Shardul Thakur.”

Aakash Chopra also talked about the expensive spell of Rahul Chahar, which eventually sealed Varun Chakravarthy’s spot as Team India’s second spinner. Talking about both the Indian spinners, Aakash Chopra said:

“Rahul Chahar was very expensive. That means I see Varun Chakravarthy playing the next match and against Pakistan. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled well, bowled off-spin as well in the first couple of overs but will you see him playing as the third spinner if three play.”

Rahul Chahar was taken for 43 runs in his 4-overs spell that he bowled and castled Dawid Malan. However, Ashwin went wicketless and only conceded just 23 runs in his 4 overs. He saod:

“Mohammed Shami did his job and picked wickets and Bumrah was economical. Mohammed Shami’s yorkers are falling in place but he can also be expensive but then Bumrah is your No.1 fast bowler and Mohammed Shami is your second fast bowler. That was a big takeaway.”

Furthermore, Aakash named Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah as the Indian cricket team preferred seam-bowling options. He said:

“It is almost confirmed that India are not going to get a sixth bowler because Hardik has not bowled even now. You should definitely play Varun Chakravarthy and Shardul Thakur against Australia.”

The cricketer-turned commentator concluded by stating that Varun Chakravarthy and Shardul Thakur should be fielded in the next warm-up match against Australia. He said:

The Virat Kohli-led side will now be seen locking their horns against Australia in the second warm-up match today.
