Virat Kohli Takes A U-Turn By Removing ‘Diwali Tips’ Link After Receiving Backlash

Diwali is one of the biggest and most loved festivals of the Hindus. With the festivals of lights around the corner, the festive quotient is currently running high amongst the Indians. However, amidst all the festive vibes, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli recently grabbed the spotlight but for all the wrong reasons.

Well, for the unversed, on Sunday Indian skipper Virat Kohli took to his Twitter and announced on social media that he will be sharing “personal tips” in the upcoming days on how to celebrate “meaningful” Diwali with loved ones. The video featuring the man himself stated:

“It’s been a tough year for all of us all around the world, especially in India with wave 2 hitting us in 2021. As we get ready for Diwali in this festive season, I will be sharing some of my tips for you to celebrate with loved ones and family.”

The teaser video went viral in no time and received a mixed response from the fans. The Indian skipper found himself under the scanner of criticism as fans started trolling him left, right, and center on Twitter.

This isn’t the first time and surely it won’t be the last time for Virat Kohli has time and again, the Indian skipper has been slammed for urging the fans to celebrate a cracker-free Diwali. There were many who felt that Kohli should stick to his core field of cricket.

Some even made personal attacks on Kohli using his stance on Anushka’s ‘no cracker’ policy during Diwali when clearly, bursting crackers are okay during IPL celebrations and on New Year and birthday.

However, now after receiving a backlash from fans on social media, Virat Kohli has removed the link to his Pinterest account from his official Twitter and Instagram profiles. The before and after screenshots of Virat Kohli’s social media profiles are going viral on the internet.

Meanwhile, the Pinterest page of Virat Kohli page boasts 6.11k followers currently shows two videos related to Diwali. While one is the introductory one, on the other hand, in the second video, Virat has shared images of his favorite sweets — ragi halwa and besan laddoo during Diwali.
