It was a blockbuster ending to a blockbuster clash between MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings and Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore. Yet another time, CSK has managed to jump on top of the points table, this time after defeating RCB by 6 wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Though after a stunning performance from the RCB openers — Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal, the MS Dhoni-led side was put under pressure, but they scripted a stunning comeback and registered their seventh victory.

After being asked to bat first, Virat Kohli along with Devdutt Padikkal gave a flying start to their team and carried on the momentum from the first over itself. They took the game by storm, raining 4s and 6s with their bats.

The duo went on to stitch a partnership of 111 runs for the opening wicket off 13.2 overs. CSK’s star bowler Dwayne Bravo gave much-needed momentum to the game by dismissing Virat Kohli. After Virat’s dismissal, RCB only managed to score 45 runs off 40 balls, as CSK kept picking wickets at regular intervals.

Chasing a target of 157 runs, CSK’s openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis gave a decent start to the team as they scored 38 and 31 runs respectively. Both batters got out in quick succession, however, Moeen Ali looked in great form. Moeen Ali joined hands with Ambati Rayudu as the duo kept ticking the scores. While Rayudu scored an 18-ball 23 with two sixes, Moeen made 23 runs. However, both the cricketers became the target of RCB’s Harshal Patel.

Now Suresh Raina was joined by MS Dhoni and the duo put together a small yet classic vintage show. Together, Raina and Dhoni took their team to the winning side as they defeated RCB by 6 wickets.

Meanwhile, fans went berserk after the vintage show from Dhoni and Raina. Social media was soon flooded with amazing reactions from fans.

Dhoni and Raina added 24* runs from 15 balls – little little happiness and safely got CSK home against #RCB.

Tickles it for a boundary. Raina can do that. Very good game for CSK. They came back superbly after RCB raced away. We will all talk about if they should have gone harder but CSK bowled and used the conditions well. CSK needed good PP they got it, all of the rest supported well.
