Rajasthan Royals‘ skipper Sanju Samson failed to kickstart phase 2 of the Indian Premier League 2021 on a fine note. In Rajasthan Royals’ first match of phase2 against Punjab Kings, fans were left disappointed after Sanju Samson was dismissed cheaply.
Sanju Samson walked out to bat at number three after openers Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a flying start to the team. The track at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium also looked fine for batting, however, Sanju Samson failed to leave a mark with his batting performance.
The dismissal took place in the first ball of the seventh over, when debutant Ishan Poral entered the scene and bowled a good length ball, slightly wide of off stump. Samson tried to hit the ball hard but got a top edge and the ball went to the keeper. Wicket-keeper KL Rahul made no mistake behind the wicket and completed the catch.
KL made a stunning effort to grab the catch with one hand to send back his counterpart. KL has been receiving praises from all corners for his catch. KL Rahul’s stunning performance brought curtains to Samson’s brief stay at the crease and he went back with only 5 runs in his account.
Meanwhile, Samson’s fans were left heartbroken with the dismal performance from the RR skipper.
