Royal Challengers Bangalore began the second phase of the IPL 2021 in a horrible way. Fans were waiting for a thrilling show from Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kolkata Knight Riders, however, it was a heartbreaking sight for the fans to see the RCB batting line collapse once again.
None of the RCB batsmen got going and they constantly kept losing the wickets in front of some very disciplined bowling from KKR.
As the game kickstarted, Virat Kohli elected to bat first, however, his decision backfired badly as they lost two wickets within the powerplay and from there the wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
Skipper Virat walked out to open the innings for his side along with his batting partner Devdutt Padikkal. Though he started cautiously and even managed to smash a stunning boundary through his trademark cover drive.
While RCB struggled to find some rhythm going into their batting innings, on the other hand, KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy turned out to be the hero with the ball with a 3-fer. KKR bowlers kept relentless pressure on the batters and Eoin Morgan did a great job with his bowling changes.
Infact, the top guns of RCB including the likes of Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, among others, all failed to contribute with runs, resulting in an embarrassing scorecard for Bangalore. The RCB team was bundled out after scoring only 92 runs.
