Indian star opener Rohit Sharma has been in some red-hot form lately. He has been receiving praises from all corners for his batting heroics and impeccable form. On Saturday, the star player added another feather to his already glorious hat as he surpassed the long-standing record of legendary Indian batsman Rahul Dravid.

Rohit Sharma achieved this milestone during day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test match at the Oval. During that match, Rohit showed a perfect balance of patience and aggression as he stole the show with his bat to reach the much-awaited moment in his career as he smashed his first-ever overseas Test hundred to drive India back into the game after England folded India for 191 runs in the first innings.

Rohit scored 100* runs from 204 balls, consisting of 12 boundaries and 1 six against England to bring back the Indian side to the driver’s seat.

Rohit Sharma made and broke many records with his game-changing knock and one of them was the long-standing record of Rahul Dravid, of hitting most international hundreds in England by an Indian batsman.

So far, Rohit has now scored nine centuries in England while Rahul Dravid has eight centuries on England soil. Interestingly, eight of the nine centuries of Rohit have come within the gap of 3 years.

Not just this, Rohit is also the first visiting cricketer to smash centuries in all the formats of the game, while opening in England. On Saturday, Rohit also completed his 3000 runs in the purest format of the game.

Meanwhile, at stumps, England needs 291 runs in 90 overs to win this match with Rory Burns(31) and Haseeb Hameed (43) in the middle
