Indian opener Rohit Sharma is one of the most destructive batsmen around the world right now. Over the years, Rohit has achieved many milestones and has emerged as a consistent run-scorer across formats.

He is absolutely unstoppable when it comes to the white-ball format and he has emerged out as a legend in the limited-overs format. However, things changed for him after he was promoted up as an opener.

Madhav Sharma Tweets Why Rohit Sharma’s Late Promotion Is India’s Bad Luck

Virat Kohli’s decision to let Rohit Sharma open in the Test cricket has undoubtedly rebooted his career in the longest format of the game. Today, his records in both ODI’s and Test speak about the talent he possesses. Rohit Sharma, who is fondly called ‘Hitman‘ Sharma, has entertained his fans with his penchant for hundreds and daddy hundreds.

Recently, he overtook captain Virat Kohli to become the top-ranked Test batter from India. He is currently sitting at a career-best fifth posting, seven rating points more than Kohli for an aggregate of 773.

Meanwhile, a popular Twitter user Madhav Sharma took to his social media and posted a special Tweet for Rohit Sharma. In his Tweet, Madhav talked about the impact of Rohit as an opener for the Indian Test side. He also explained why Rohit Sharma’s late promotion is bad luck for the Indian side. Madhav wrote:

“Considering how late he plays the ball, Rohit Sharma always had the technique to do well in Test cricket. It’s just Indian cricket’s bad luck that he didn’t start opening in red-ball cricket after 2013.”

Talking about the ongoing 4th Test match, the Indian cricket team got off to a steady start in the second innings owing to a great start by the openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Both the openers played cautiously and remained unbeaten at Stumps on Day 2. The Indian side was at 43/0 after 16 overs and is currently trailing by 56 runs.

During India’s second innings against England in the 4th Test match at the Oval in London, Rohit Sharma reached another milestone in his career as he completed 15,000 international runs.
