Brad Hogg Names Rishabh Pant’s Replacement For The Fourth Test: Following the humiliating defeat at Headingley, Leeds, cricket pundits and experts have been suggesting changes that should be made by the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and team management for the 4th Test match.
There have been a lot of talks about replacing Rishabh Pant with Wriddhiman Saha for the fourth Test match. Amidst all this, the latest one to come out and suggest his advice on the matter is former Australian bowler Brad Hogg.
For the unversed, Rishabh Pant is having a tough time with the bat in the ongoing 5-match Test series against England. So far, in the five innings, he has played, the swashbuckling left-hander has only managed to score 87 runs, with 37 being the highest runs.
Speaking on his latest Youtube video, former Australian bowler Brad Hogg came up with an interesting solution as he wants to take over the glove duties from Rishabh Pant as that would allow India to play an extra batsman at No. 6 and that could be Suryakumar Yadav. He said:
“I think it will be a big risk to KL (Rahul) keep, and open the batting but it could be an opportunity for KL to do the job,”
He added:
“He has been very adaptive before, he has done it before and this could be an opening for SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) at number six and that’s probably the position he’ll best be suited. So, this is a very good option for India to take but remember the workload on KL Rahul,”
Hogg admits that it will not be easy for KL Rahul to open and then keep wickets, but he also reckoned that he is capable of doing it. He said:
“It’s a very very hard job and I think KL Rahul is capable of doing it. So, the honeymoon period might be over for Rishabh Pant but I don’t think they’ll make that change in the next Test match. If they lose the next Test, they might think about it for the final Test match,”
