Indian skipper Virat Kohli and England pacer James Anderson were once again at each other’s throats during the opening day of the 3rd Test match. However, this time it was England’s pacer who got the better of Virat Kohli as he was dismissed for seven after he was caught behind by Jos Buttler off his nemesis James Anderson.

The only thing that went right for the Indian skipper was winning the toss for the first time in the last nine Tests against England. Virat’s decision to bat first in the game backfired badly as the England bowlers ripped through India and bundled them out for 78 runs to take complete control after Day 1.

Anderson kept the Indian batsmen on their toes as he managed to reduce the Indian side to 21 for three within 11 overs before the rest of the team was bundled up.  The sensational right-arm swing bowler finished with figures of 8-5-6-3.

Talking about the Indian skipper, Virat’s misery didn’t end with his dismissal. England’s Barmy Army, a group of England cricket fans as he walked back to the pavilion. The English fans continued singing, “cheerio” (said as goodbye).

Not just this, the Barmy Army also took to their Twitter to take a dig at the Indian skipper. In their Tweet, they shared a picture of James Anderson celebrating Kohli’s wicket as the latter walked back to the pavilion in dismay. Sharing the picture, Barmy Army wrote:

“Not in my backyard, son.”

For the unversed, the ‘backyard’ banter started during the second Test match at the Lord’s Virat Kohli and James Anderson’s verbal spat was caught on the stump mic. While Anderson was walking back towards his bowling mark, Kohli was heard saying:

“You are swearing at me? Like you did to Bumrah?. This isn’t your backyard”

Anderson must have said something more which was inaudible and Kohli was heard saying: “Yeah, yeah yeah, Chirp chirp chirp”.
