India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after he failed to perform once again in the ongoing 2nd Test match against England.

Ahead of the ongoing 5-match series, there were a lot of talks about Ajinkya Rahane’s place in the Indian squad, however, the team management showed immense faith in their test specialist. Infact, during a pre-match virtual conference on the eve of the Lord’s encounter, Virat was asked about Ajinkya Rahane’s form. Responding to which, Virat had said:

“I do not think Ajinkya Rahane’s form is an area of concern. Our basic focus is not to think about where are people individually at the moment, collectively how much strength they bring into the team is our focus,”

However, the cricketer failed to live up to the expectations of the fans. At the iconic Lord’s Stadium, where the Indian side dominated England throughout the opening day of the 2nd Test match after a stellar 129 from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma’s 83, Ajinkya Rahane had the perfect platform, however, the cricketer failed miserably.

Rahane could only manage a solitary run from 23 balls before he was dismissed by England’s star bowler James Anderson. In the 14 innings, he has played in 2021, he has averaged a poor 20.69 in 14 innings in 2021 and his form has only deteriorated.

Meanwhile, fans were left disappointed after the poor performance of Ajinkya Rahane in the second Test against England. Rahane is getting badly trolled by the fans. There were many who came up with hilarious memes and jokes while trolling the cricketer.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

Ajinkya Rahane remained not out for a day. Can’t ask for more. #Engvind

Team Man Rahane not making run beacuse team was already in good position.

It seems Rahane and Pujara are selected in the Indian team for giving catch practice to the English players. It is time for the youngsters to be tested.

SKY would be a better replacement for rahane or pujara. Pretty sure he’ll put up a good performance.

Well played KL Rahul. Sad to see people going after Pujara and Rahane when Rahul clearly said he has scored on behalf of his mates as well. ❤ #EngvInd
